Due Dates for 2017
First Installment Notice:
2016 Property Tax First Installment due: January 31, 2017
Bills will be mailed before December 21 by your local municipality (Town, Village, or City). The first due date is January 31, 2017.
Please be sure to pay 2016 taxes to your Local Municipal Treasurer and double-check that the payment is for the proper amount. Mailing instructions are on your tax bill.
Mail your payment early to make sure the U.S. Postal Service postmark is timely. The cost of missing a deadline and being delinquent is severe. Specifically, the entire tax bill comes due immediately with interest and penalty charges of 1.5 percent unpaid principal per month as of February 1.

City of Madison:
2016 Property Taxes for City of Madison
If you also owe 2016 taxes for City of Madison property, please mail that payment directly to the City in a separate envelope with a separate check through the July 31 deadline.

Important: In accordance with state statutes, the Treasurer’s Office relies on USPS postmark to determine if a payment is paid on time. The cost of going delinquent is severe in that the entire tax bill comes due
immediately with interest and penalty charges of 1.5 percent unpaid principal per month as of February 1 (10.5% in August for 2016 taxes).
